July 16th TR

July 16th TR

Well, I arrived at the park around 11, but by the time I got in and got through the turnstiles (that's apparently what the spinning, go-through, thingy is called.), it was 11:15. I was a bit scared about the lines because the parking lot was pretty packed. Since it was right there, we rode Houdini. First time in about 3-5 years (whenever Houdini was opened before the long SBNO time). I never knew how dizzy I got on the ride until I realized that the ride is messing with my head. So after Houdini, it was off to Boardwalk.

We tried to see if S:UF didn't have a long line (gathering it was about 11:30 and the park has only been open for an hour). Let's just say the line was backed up two switchbacks. No thank you. Since it was right there, and I told myself I had to get on last ride on it, we gave GASM it's last ride. We got on the line, and it was at the stairs. Good wait gathering that once we got up the stairs the line was packed up half the queue before the switchbacks. We got on 3rd row in 10 minutes, and I do have to say, it was hauling and ran great. I think GASM will be kicking until it has no more juice (as in when GADV takes it down starting July 19th).

While on the queue, I spotted Rolling Thunder sending dueling trains with empty rows, and like two or three filled rows. We looked at each other and just said "Why not?". After GASM, went straight to RT. No line on the right side, empty rows on the left. I chose right side, and went front row. Of course, we lost because the right sides lift is slow as balls.

While turning up RT's hill, I saw El Toro's first switchback barely filled. El Toro was just screaming my name. After RT, we went straight to El Toro, waited max 15-20 minutes for 4th car. Man, El Toro have a hell of a lot of air time. Great time on it.

We looked over at Bizarro, which was right near El Toro, and I saw no trains, no mist, no lights, nothing. An attendent told me it was maintenance. That's believable for a mutli-sensored ride like Bizarro. So we went to RMT and got on in like 5 minutes on the back car. Not much to say, just that I rode it for the first time this year (I think. My brain has been fried since school ended).

After that, we checked Kingda Ka, which was down for the time. The guy said give it an hour or two and the ride should be ready to go. So with that, we grabbed a bite to eat at Kingdom Sliders. Although it does not go up to the old Bengal Burgers standards, they give enough food for like $7-$9. That's good compared to Best of the West's $20 burgers.

We walked over to the other side. We hopped on Blackbeard's for a quick ride on the second row. We headed over the Skully. Station wait for it and got back car.

After walking out to the brutal moment when you walk out of Skully's dark, evil exit and face Wiggle's World's bright, colorful entrance, we checked out Batman. The wait was under the shelter, but not the full switchback. It was only a 25 minute wait for 3rd row. And thank the lord we got row 3, because row 2 of the train before us left a special suprise, if you catch my drift. Batman was forceful today. Yet after the second loop, my legs went numb. Ouch.

We went straight to TDK which was quick wait and cold in there. That's a win win. After that, we headed to Nitro. The line was under that little hut under the pre-drop before the lift. 15 minute wait for back row. Nitro was forceful from the drop, but the trims were on, so the hills were floaters.  Still, the helix was intense today.

We walked back toward Bizarro again, hoping it would open. No such luck. So we tried out Kingda Ka again, crossing our fingers that it was open. Boy, we lucked out. Station wait, left side, back section. I waited max 5-10 minutes for 3rd row. Ka was not rough today. Fast, but what's new with that.

We went back over to S:UF. Luckily, the line was a bit past the first switchback. We had time and not much left to do. We waited 45 for row 5. I can't remember how smooth S:UF was. I haven't rode it since mid-2009. Crazy.

With everything basically done, we just randomly did whatever rides we felt like to do again. We headed back to Rolling Thunder. We went right side again and had a one train wait for front row. It was a ghosttown when we got on RT. When we got off, there was enough people to fit one train, two if lucky. We checked Bizarro one last time because we saw it testing one or two trains. Once again, not opened. Whatever, I have all season to ride it again.

We rushed over to Skull Mountain again because we didn't have much time, and it was hot as balls outside. Literally, we walked onto Skully. We walked into the station, the air gates opened, I rushed towards the last row, and got on. After the dark journey, we got back into the station and no one was in my row. Time to take advantage. Got a re-ride.

After Skully's double ride, we went to Batman again. Went straight through the queue, and got on 6th row with a one train wait. Again, Batman was forceful. After Batman, we didn't have much time, so we ended where we started, Houdini. We left around 7.

Ride count:
Houdini x2
GASM x1
S:UF x1
KK x1
El Toro x1
RT x2 (both right side)
RMT x1
BBLT x1
Skully x3
Nitro x1
B:TR x2
TDK x1

Notes:
-Houdini's pre-show and TDK's pre-show, I love how the attendent kicks the metal door (TDK) or bangs a metal pole (Houdini) to scare guests
-Clean up on isle 2 of B:TR
-I sang God Bless America on GASM. I'm very respectful
-bye bye 2 waters for $5 deal

Re: July 16th TR

It wasn't me.  It was the two rides before me and a row ahead of me.

Did you know?

Six Flags Magic Mountain gets one of the first Coca-Cola Freestyle Machines. And it is the first Coca-Cola Freestyle Machine to go in a Six Flags theme park.
